Going through the 23 things may have been a pain in the rear, but I can honestly say I have learned many useful tools to use in teaching. It has taught me that I can have many resources and still be organized. I also can create many interesting and fun assessments to use for the students while we are in class or if they are at home on their computer.
Basically, not only has this project helped me become organized as a teacher, but it gave me many resources to use to enhance student learning. I would defintely recommened all future teachers to use the 23 Things of APSU.

Thing # 23
This website is a similar website to the 23 Things we have to complete at APSU.
Learning about creative commons has helped tremendously because as a teacher this will be very useful in the classroom with making activities and such.

My Teacher Binder
My Teacher Binder, Educational Issues, and Student Assessments are my three binders. This could be used in the classroom to keep a handle on the various sources on the internet. Most of the websites that I could include will definitely be educational.

I love Youtube and use it almost every day. There is a vast amount of information on this site that you can find a video on just about any topic. I chose this video because it is informative about the famous Folger Library which known for Shakespearean studies. I could definitely show this video to my class.
This video would be great to share with my class!

Visit TeacherPop
Exploring TeacherPop was neat and interesting. It is basically like a mini version of Facebook for teachers and future teachers. While reading some of the comments, I saw a lot of what has been talked about in my education classes. This site will be very useful to me as a future teacher.
Gather was also cool to look at because it is a social networking site where the users mostly share news. This would be very helpful to me as a teacher to stay on top of current events.

Thing #18
My Facebook
It is important for educators to have a social networking site because it keeps them up-to-date with students, other teachers, parents, and even could be a good resource for help with lessons and activities. I like how on Facebook you can read posts from everyone to see what is going on. Also, there are groups that teachers can join that they might find helpful while in the classroom.

I really like this website. It is very easy to use and would serve as a useful tool to help teachers be organized and have a handful of resources at his/her finger tips. I logged into delicious with my yahoo account and then created the URL address to my little corner of the site.
Link to my delicious site
This could definitely be used in the classroom because teachers can bookmark lesson plans, activities, interesting finds, and more onto this website. All of these resources would be helpful to the classroom.

Thing #16
My iGoogle Homepage
I have been using iGoogle as my homepage. It's appealed to me because you can customize the desgin, layout, links, and way that you like. It's interesting.
My to-do list
I like using the to do list because it has the potential to help keep me organized. It's a good way to jot down anything thoughts or assignments without having to worry about finding a pen and paper.
My google calendar
Calendar is always useful because it helps the days seem more organized. (Like I have said in a previous post about calendars) :]
I recommend that everyone, students, teachers, parents, friends, etc, use these sites to help maintain organization. They are helpful, easy, and quick to use.

Thing # 14
Mind Map of Macbeth Characters
Flow Chart of Problem-Solution Story Map
I realized that mind maps are a good way to jot down thoughts in an organized way. Flow charts, however, are more complex and can be used for many things such as time lines, events, characters, problem solving, etc.
I chose to use mindmiester for the mindmap and bubbl.us for the flow chart because they were easy and fun to use.

Zoho is a great online tool for education. Some students may have a computer but no word documents to type up a paper. I had no idea something like this exists, and I know having an online word document can help teachers and students in many ways.
I like Google docs just as much. It does basically the same thing, but I also noticed options for creating spreedsheets, presentations, pdfs, as well as a text document.
Students can use these together by going online and working on a presentation, paper, project, etc.

Google Calendar
My calendar
This is helpful to have so I can keep track of things. In an educational setting, I could use this to post homework assignments and future classroom assignments to keep not only me as a teacher organized but to keep students on track with school.
Google Translator
This is great if I ever have a student who is still learning English. This will help me accommodate the student because it can translate our language to each other and help me help the student.

The google blog search was the easiest option for me to find RSS blogs. The search box made it very easy to find any subject or topic that I wanted to read about and add to my google reader. The syndica8 was confusing to me. I found blogs but no RSS share button. I did, however, find a cool blog on google search about literature.
Thing # 10
I think RSS and newsreaders are great! It really does save time to go to one place on the internet to look at your favorite blog/news instead of wasting time searching for news things.
I could use this in my personal life to help me save time and be organized.
Just having an RSS or newsreader makes one technology savvy. This is a great resource for teachers to use to stay updated and on top of things.

The first two photos are dorm doors at Austin Peay. My friend and I decided to welcome our other friends to the resident hall by covering their door full of posted notes.
The last picture is of a fairy decoration hanging from the ceiling in my room.
I will use flicker in my classroom to provide visuals to my students for all assigned reading. I could also use Flickr for personal photos and share them with family and friends. I have never used another photo sharing site and I'm okay with having photos on the internet because I know I can make them private.
